About the RTI Act
The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 is a landmark legislation enacted by the Government of India to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in public authorities. The Act empowers every citizen of India to seek information relating to the functioning, administration, policies, and decisions of public authorities, thereby ensuring openness and responsible governance.
Educational institutions recognized by the Government, including colleges covered under the relevant provisions of the University Grants Commission (UGC), are required to comply with the provisions of the RTI Act. In accordance with Section 4(1)(b) and Section 2(h) of the RTI Act, Akhilabhagya Post Graduate College is committed to maintaining transparency by proactively disclosing statutory information and providing access to information, except where disclosure is exempt under Section 8 of the Act.
The College fully adheres to the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has designated a Public Information Officer (PIO) to receive, process, and respond to RTI applications in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

Citizens seeking information under the Right to Information Act, 2005 may submit their applications to the Public Information Officer during office hours or through the prescribed mode as per the provisions of the RTI Act and the applicable Government/UGC guidelines.
The College is committed to ensuring timely, transparent, and lawful disposal of RTI applications while safeguarding information exempt from disclosure under the provisions of the Act.
