About the Equal Opportunity Cell
The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) of Akhilabhagya Post Graduate College, Ranapar, Gorakhpur (Affiliated to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur) has been established in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote equality, inclusiveness, and non-discrimination within the institution.
The Cell is committed to ensuring that every student and employee, irrespective of caste, religion, gender, disability, economic background, or any other social identity, has equal access to educational opportunities, institutional resources, and support services. The Equal Opportunity Cell works to create an inclusive campus environment where diversity is respected and every individual is empowered to achieve academic and personal excellence.

Objectives
• To ensure equality in access to educational opportunities and institutional facilities.
• To prevent discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, disability, language, region, or socio-economic status.
• To provide guidance, counselling, and support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
• To create awareness regarding Government and UGC welfare schemes, scholarships, and support programmes.
• To promote inclusive practices and universal accessibility across the campus.
• To coordinate with various statutory bodies and committees of the College in matters related to equal opportunity and inclusion.
Functions of the Equal Opportunity Cell
The Equal Opportunity Cell shall:
• Promote an inclusive and discrimination-free campus environment.
• Address concerns related to unequal treatment or denial of equal opportunity.
• Organize awareness programmes, seminars, workshops, and orientation sessions on equality, diversity, inclusion, and constitutional values.
• Guide students regarding scholarships, fellowships, and Government welfare schemes.
• Recommend measures for improving accessibility and support services for disadvantaged students.
• Collaborate with various statutory committees, departments, and support services to strengthen inclusive education.
• Maintain records of activities undertaken by the Cell and submit periodic reports to the College authorities.
Beneficiaries
The Equal Opportunity Cell extends support and guidance to:
• Students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
• Students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
• Minority community students.
• Persons with Disabilities (PWD)/Divyangjan.
• Women students.
• First-generation learners.
• Students from rural, socially, and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
• Any student requiring institutional support to ensure equal access to education.
Composition of the Equal Opportunity Cell
The composition of the Equal Opportunity Cell may be revised by the College from time to time in accordance with UGC guidelines and institutional requirements.
Grievance Redressal
Students or employees who experience discrimination or denial of equal opportunity, or who require institutional support in matters relating to inclusion and accessibility, may submit a written representation to the Coordinator of the Equal Opportunity Cell or contact the College Office.
The Cell shall ensure that all representations are dealt with fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Constitution of India, the Government of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the policies of the College.
